About Me
Dr. Kryger is a board-certified and fellowship-trained Spinal Cord Injury Physiatrist. He is an assistant professor in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. Prior to coming to Penn State Health, he completed his undergraduate and masters education in Biomedical Engineering at Northwestern University, working on advanced EMG-based prostheses. He then completed his residency and fellowship training at the University of Pittsburgh. At that time, he also participated in research into brain-computer interfaces, along with mobile health applications to improve the independence of individuals with disabilities. One of Dr. Kryger’s primary interests is how to use consumer electronics to enhance the lives of those with spinal cord injury. He has been published in several journals detailing these research projects, and has spoken at national conferences on these topics. Dr. Kryger is also a dedicated educator, overseeing the Spinal Cord Injury curriculum for residents and is program director of the Spinal Cord Injury Fellowship. He was recently awarded Teacher of the Year in the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Department for his contributions.
